This morning as I sat with my coffee considering the future and the difficult economy our nation faces today I recalled God’s promise in:
But ye shall be named the Priests of the LORD: [men] shall call you the Ministers of our God: ye shall eat the riches of the Gentiles, and in their glory shall ye boast yourselves. (KJV)
Wow! This promise that the Lord Himself has given us just as He spoke the ten commandments to Moses He speaks to us today promising us that we need only “trust and obey” and He will name us Priests of the Lord: Men will call us ministers of our God” and of course regarding financial provision “ye shall eat the riches of the Gentiles, and in their glory shall ye boast yourselves.” All this comes just from trusting and obeying His Word.
According to this promise we need only believe and obey He will do the rest. Promotion comes from the Lord and our storehouses will be blessed if we only “trust and obey” Him.
We live in desperate times which call for “desperate faith”. The things we have loved and trusted in have become as unstable as ground shaking in an earthquake or high winds blowing in a hurricane . There seem to be more job losses than jobs available. Good people who have worked very hard all of their lives losing everything but God promises us that if we trust and obey Him:
A thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand; [but] it shall not come nigh thee.(KJV)
It could be easy to become afraid and worry, but God’s promises are yeah and amen and solid like a rock. If we can “trust” and “obey” Him He promises us that:
As birds flying, so will the LORD of hosts defend Jerusalem; defending also he will deliver [it; and] passing over he will preserve it. (KJV)
