Watchman for The Lord

Happy New Year 2011!!!

As I contemplate the close of 2010 and the start of the New Year I consider all of the words I could write to encourage you this December 31st.

As those of you who read my blog regularly know I generally use Charles Haddon Spurgeon’s devotional Morning and Evening to encourage you. But considering the days we live in it seems important this year to address the urgency of the hour.

We are at a critical point in the history of our nation and the history of man. The signs of the day of our Lord’s soon appearing seem to be everywhere.

My heart says now is the time to take an inventory of our souls to make sure any sin, as a little fox spoils the vine, any sin that may be spoiling the vine of our hearts the vine of our souls should be nailed once again to the cross of Calvary in repentance. So that, like the five wise virgins our Lord spoke about in Matthew 25:1-13 who went forth ready to meet their Bridegroom with their lamps filled with oil, that we too through repentance of sin may make a place in our hearts that the Holy Spirit may fill with the oil of His presence so that when our Bridegroom comes He will find that we too have oil in the lamp of our souls and are ready to meet Him our heavenly Bridegroom. Unlike the foolish virgins who were not ready to meet their bridegroom and had to go out to buy oil. While they were gone the Bridegroom came and they were “left behind”.

Our Lord comes soon. Now is the time for us all to reflect on the readiness of our souls. Are we ready to meet Him should He come tonight? Now is the time to prepare for our soon coming Bridegroom our soon coming King!

In this the year of our Lord 2011 my prayer for you is this that:

Numbers 6:24-26 (King James Version)

24 The LORD bless thee, and keep thee:

25 The LORD make his face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee:

26 The LORD lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace.

Finally, please pray with me for the peace of Jerusalem. God bless you all this New Year’s Eve 2011!!! Have a safe and prosperous new year!!!
