Fear Not!

FEAR NOT!
By Robert Jones

Here is a Word that the Lord shared with me today, 5/26/2012 (yet again) during my prayer and worship time.  It is not mine completely, nor is it original, but rather a distillation and internalization and understanding of what others have said already.  I wish to thank the following people who have spurred this on:  Shannon Davis (http://www.omegamanradio.com), Pastor John Kyle (http://www.theoasisplace.org), and Pastor Andrew Wommack (http://www.awmi.net).  I also wish to dedicate this to Ms. Judith Ward and Mr. Italo Marti, both of whom were living this teaching as it was being given to me and written up.

Have you ever felt fear, fright, or terror over what somebody could do to you?  Have you ever been threatened with a beating or even your life?  Have you ever felt that weight of your problems were too much to bear and feared a breakdown?  Have you ever been in a state of confusion or felt very negative emotions for no apparent reason (hatred, fear, bitterness, anger, etc.) If so, then this little message is for you.

Let us start with Proverbs 3 which I was reading this morning when this Word came to me:

Pro 3:19 The LORD by *wisdom* hath founded the earth; by *understanding* hath he established the heavens.
Pro 3:20 By his *knowledge* the depths are broken up, and the clouds drop down the dew.
Pro 3:21 My son, let not them (wisdom, understanding, and knowledge from previous 2 verses) depart from thine eyes: keep sound wisdom and discretion:
Pro 3:22 So shall they be life unto thy soul, and grace to thy neck.
Pro 3:23 Then shalt thou walk in thy way safely, and thy foot shall not stumble.
Pro 3:24 When thou liest down, thou shalt not be afraid: yea, thou shalt lie down, and thy sleep shall be sweet.
Pro 3:25 Be not afraid of sudden fear, neither of the desolation of the wicked, when it cometh.
Pro 3:26 For the LORD shall be thy confidence, and shall keep thy foot from being taken.

What this should tell you is that with a knowledge, understanding, and wisdom of the Lord you will NOT have fear, terror, or panic.  Rather, with a knowledge of God, and with His wisdom and understanding you will have peace during ANY time of trouble and in the midst of that trouble.

Psalm 91 tells us that when we do have trust, faith, and knowledge of God, we will be protected from ALL of our enemies, both physical and spiritual (it is also a verification of Proverbs 3).

Psa 91:1 He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.
Psa 91:2 I will say of the LORD, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust.
Psa 91:3 Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence.
Psa 91:4 He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler.
Psa 91:5 Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night; nor for the arrow that flieth by day;
Psa 91:6 Nor for the pestilence that walketh in darkness; nor for the destruction that wasteth at noonday.
Psa 91:7 A thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand; but it shall not come nigh thee.
Psa 91:8 Only with thine eyes shalt thou behold and see the reward of the wicked.
Psa 91:9 Because thou hast made the LORD, which is my refuge, even the most High, thy habitation;
Psa 91:10 There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling.
Psa 91:11 For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways.
Psa 91:12 They shall bear thee up in their hands, lest thou dash thy foot against a stone.
Psa 91:13 Thou shalt tread upon the lion and adder: the young lion and the dragon shalt thou trample under feet.
Psa 91:14 Because he hath set his love upon me, therefore will I deliver him: I will set him on high, because he hath known my name.
Psa 91:15 He shall call upon me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honour him.
Psa 91:16 With long life will I satisfy him, and shew him my salvation.

Now, in second Timothy, we read:

2Ti 1:7 For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.

Which is another way of saying that fear is NOT of God.  And if fear is NOT of God, then it must be of the devil.  See Ephesians 6:

Eph 6:10 Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.
Eph 6:11 Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.
Eph 6:12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

Also, reference Ecclesiastes:
Ecc 3:8 A time to love, and a time to hate; a time of war, and a time of peace.

Which tells us that there is a time in God’s eyes for war, violence, and battle.  This violence as witnessed above MUST be done in the spiritual, which is the realm of Satan, but can also be in the physical in defense of the weak and those unable to protect themselves from evil, or as part of God’s righteous host.

So what are the signs of evil and how do we know when we are under attack?  Let’s look at Romans 1:

Rom 1:29 Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers,
Rom 1:30 Backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents,
Rom 1:31 Without understanding, covenant breakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful:
Rom 1:32 Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them.

Which basically states that anything that is NOT love, peace, joyfulness, of a sound mind are ungodly.  When we feel ourselves becoming bitter, angry, hateful, impatient, unloving, fearful, or beginning to speak with doubt, fear, unbelief, or causing strife and/or confusion in ANY fashion, then we are under a demonic attack and need to put on our Ephesians 6 armor and join the battle, standing on the the faith and knowledge that Lord Jesus has already conquered all evil and will operate with and through us to defeat the evil coming against us.

In short, we are ALL in a spiritual war, whether we wish to acknowledge it or not.  As true Jesus following Christians, we are COMMANDED to join this war on the side of righteousness.  Some will even be called upon to war in the physical according to God’s plan.
